About the role

We are recruiting an Application Engineer with experience in industrial machine vision, 3D measurement, automation, or automotive manufacturing inspection systems. The role combines technical engineering expertise with customer-facing application support, demonstrations, proof-of-concept testing, and industrial equipment implementation. Key responsibilities

• Support the application and deployment of industrial 3D machine vision and metrology solutions.
• Conduct technical demonstrations and proof-of-concept evaluations.
• Assess customer manufacturing and inspection requirements.
• Configure, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot measurement and inspection systems.
• Support installations, commissioning, and onsite technical activities.
• Work with automotive manufacturing customers on dimensional inspection and quality applications.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and customer technical teams.
• Provide application training and technical recommendations.
• Travel to customer facilities as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in applications engineering, field engineering, manufacturing automation, industrial metrology, or machine vision.
• Familiarity with 3D vision systems, dimensional measurement, or automated inspection technology.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing, industrial quality inspection, or production environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical systems and communicate solutions to customers.
• Experience conducting technical demonstrations, system evaluations, or equipment deployments.
• Willingness to work onsite in Michigan and travel to customer facilities.
• Relevant technologies/systems include Cognex, Keyence, Hexagon, ZEISS, Perceptron, or comparable industrial inspection and metrology systems.
• Application requirement: résumé highlighting industrial vision or metrology technologies, customer-facing engineering work, system installations, and relevant automotive manufacturing experience.
